Problems With Your Rangetop?

Viking ranges are built to last, but all appliances can experience problems from time to time. Common range problems include control malfunctions, burners not igniting or burnt out, fuel supply problems, or the range is making a clicking sound.

If your rangetop burners are not igniting, you can’t get anything done with your appliance. Follow these maintenance steps to see if you can help the problem. These simple steps can save you time and money before calling in the pros:

  • Clean the rangetop – a buildup of grease, grime, and dirt can cause parts to function poorly or not at all. Use a soft-bristled brush and a warm soapy cloth to clean surfaces of the rangetop. Follow your Viking owner’s manual for help in opening the top of the rangetop to get at hard-to-reach areas.

  • Check your controls – if your controls are worn out or broken, they won’t allow you to call for the right heat from your burners. Inspect your controls for peak performance.

  • Clean burners – If the burners themselves are dirty, you can clean them with a bristle brush or cloth. Make sure the holes that emit natural gas from the burners are clear and free of debris.

  • Check the igniter and igniter switch – these two parts control the ignition of natural gas coming from your burners. If your burners are clean, in place firmly, and supplied with gas, the next potential issue is with the igniter or igniter switch. Use your Viking owner’s manual to locate and visually inspect these parts. Be sure they are firmly in place and firing when activated. If you see a problem with these parts, it may be time to call in a professional.

If you’re still having trouble getting to the bottom of your clicking noise, don’t worry. No matter what your appliance problem is, you can contact us for advice and service. We have the professional experience to take care of any appliance issue in your home.
